Last of the Dragoes: Legends
“Epic, heartfelt, and brimming with magic...” — NewInBooks.com
He gave up duty to begin his family. Now his past is coming for his son.
Victor Tornell lives a quiet life—devoted husband, proud father, and a man with a buried past. But when an old enemy resurfaces, everything he’s hidden threatens to erupt into chaos.
Years ago, Victor was a Dragoes in the Order of the Dragons—peacekeepers empowered by magic to prevent war between races. He left the Order to build a life with Tina, the woman he loved. To protect her from an assassination attempt, they faked their deaths and vanished into obscurity.
But the enemy he thought he appeased—Draven—is still alive.
And now, Draven is coming not just for Victor, but for his five-year-old son, Koh.
With an army of the Dragoes’ oldest enemies and a plan to wipe out their Order forever, Draven’s return could mean the end of everything Victor once swore to protect.
Will Victor rise again to stop him… or will the world witness the Last of the Dragoes?

Gripping Fantasy like a movie in my mind
I can honestly tell you it's a fantastic book. I feel like I'm walking along with the characters as they are going through their world and fighting and living. At every fight I was on edge so worried for each character. It's the type of story that you want to rush through to see what happens next, but it pulls you in, so you have to experience it one page at a time. I found myself covering the next paragraph so my eyes couldn't skip ahead! The magic and world are in balance, and the characters hold your attention, even the villains who carry that range of dispicable to doing what they must to survive. If you love original fantasy or new fantasy, this is a great book to add to your collection.
I mean it. I kept trying to read it quickly, usually I can get through something 500 pages in a few days like 3, 4 at the most. But this book has that amazing ability to pull me in. That is the highest praise I give to a book, I forget I'm reading and simply live in the world on the page. Then when I'm not able to read, I keep thinking what was that show I was watching... duh it wasn't a show, IT WAS THIS BOOK. Pacing, perfect. World building, spot on. Character development, couldn't ask for better. Magic use and understanding, makes perfect sense. Good guys, powerful not over powered. Bad guys, smart but bad guys for a reason. Overall, a refreshing new addition to the genre.
5 stars is all I can give it here but it deserves more. Best of all and more importantly... when is book two going to be released? Don't make me wait forever!
